Rosemont Real Estate

Located just minutes from O'Hare International Airport and close to several major expressways, the village of Rosemont covers 1.7 square miles, and has a population of 4,078 (2005). It's had its one and only mayor, Donald E. Stephens, since it was incorporated in 1956, and is known for its massive convention center (Donald E. Stephens Convention Center), plentiful hotels and restaurants, and for bringing thousands of business people into the village each year to attend trade shows, antique shows, boating and fishing shows, business conferences, and other events.

Rosemont also is well-known for its two entertainment venues, namely the 18,500-seat Allstate Arena on Mannheim Road, which hosts more than 150 events each year, including rock concerts, circuses, ice-skating extravaganzas, and sporting events, and the 4,400-seat Rosemont Theatre on River Road, which hosts lavish Broadway musicals and world-class entertainers.

The Rosemont Park District provides plenty of recreational opportunities. The main facility on Scott Street offers racquetball courts, a weight room, a game room, two baseball fields, an outdoor skating rink, playground equipment, and a picnic area. The Rosemont Pool and Gym on Ruby Street features an Olympic-size indoor pool, and a gym that's open to the public. Rosemont Community Park, located behind the Westin Hotel, offers opportunities for jogging and walking. Next to the Allstate Arena is the Rosemont Recreation Fieldhouse and Park where recreation enthusiasts can play soccer, basketball and volleyball. And the Willow Creek Club offers members an indoor running/walking track, two basketball courts, a lap swimming pool, volleyball, racquetball, an indoor golf driving range, and other amenities.

For shopping, villagers can visit the Rosemont Marketplace, which features a Target, specialty shops and a variety of restaurants. Residents can also shop at the Rosemont Plaza on Higgins Road, drive to Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, or spend some time at Oakbrook Center, one of the Chicago area's premier outdoor malls.

In May, 2006, Rosemont village officials announced a master plan and store anchors for Rosemont Walk- a $500 million dollar mixed-use development that will feature hotels, restaurants, entertainment and offices, constructed around the Donald E. Stephens Convention and Conference Center and Rosemont Theatre, both on River Road.

In terms of housing, single-family homes, apartments and condominiums dot the community. The median price of a single-family home is $386,500.
