The majority of Kendall County's population lives in the north and eastern sections of the County, and along the Fox River, the only river in the County. Many new subdivisions have been constructed in recent years, which have contributed to its considerable population growth. The organization, Protect Kendall Now, was created in response to Kendall County's rapid population growth, and in order to protect the remaining natural areas of the county. Southern Kendall County still remains largely an agricultural region. The only designated state park in the county is Silver Springs State Park.
