Hillside Real Estate

A community of approximately 8,100 residents, the Cook County suburb of Hillside is located 14 miles west of downtown Chicago, and occupies the center of a number of expressways serving the Chicago area. Interstate 290 (Eisenhower Expressway) cuts through the village from east to west, with Interstate 294 (Tri-State) and the Interstate 290 (Eisenhower Expressway) extension located near Hillside's northwestern boundary. Because Hillside is located near numerous transportation and business hubs, it is often referred to as the "Hub of the Western Suburbs. Mobster Al Capone is buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery, one of the village's many resting places.

In their leisure time, Hillside residents have a variety of activities from which to choose. They can go shopping at the well-known outdoor Oak Brook Shopping Center, which is a short distance away, take out some books from the Hillside Public Library, listen to some music during the summertime at the village's "Concert Under the Stars," watch an outdoor movie and eat some popcorn in the Hillside Commons on Friday nights, play some softball at Hillside Commons, and attend the village's annual Taste of Hillside.

The town's Memorial Park District was established in 1928 and provides a wide range of programs for the residents of Hillside as well as residents of some nearby communities. Facilities include gym and workout facilities, as well as special recreational programs for mentally, physically and hearing-impaired participants. Residents can also have a day of fun at the village's Adventure Bay Water Park on Wolf Road.

There are a number of high-quality public and private elementary, middle and high schools in Hillside. Hillside residents can also attend a number of nearby colleges including Triton College on 5th Avenue in River Grove; College of DuPage at 22nd Street and Lambert Road in Glen Ellyn; Elmhurst College on Prospect Avenue in Elmhurst; and Dominican University on Division Street in River Forest. Of Hillside residents age 25 and older, 81.4 percent have a high school diploma.
